India has issued a travel advisory to its citizens regarding travel to Iran and Israel.

A written statement regarding the travel advisory was released by the Ministry.

Drawing attention to the situation in the region, the statement advised Indian citizens not to visit Iran and Israel until further notice.

The statement requested that Indians living in these countries contact their respective Embassies and advised citizens in the region to take security precautions and restrict their movements.

Israel had carried out an airstrike on the consular building located within the Iranian embassy compound in Damascus on April 1. A total of 7 people, including 2 generals from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, were killed in the attack.

Iran, which announced that it would quickly retaliate for the attack, also held the US responsible for the incident.
