Intruder breaks into royal palace in England
There were two unauthorized entries at Prince William and Kate Middleton's official London residence before Christmas; the suspect was caught again after brief arrests.

As the New Year holiday approaches, consecutive security breaches have occurred at Kensington Palace in London, the capital of England. It has been learned that an individual entered the palace, known as the official residence of Prince William and Princess Kate, on two different days, and despite being caught and released, faced the same charge again shortly after.
According to police reports, 39-year-old suspect Derek Egan attempted to enter the grounds by climbing the fence surrounding the palace on December 21. Egan, who was caught and taken into custody by security forces arriving at the scene, was later released on bail. However, just two days later, on December 23, he was caught again while trespassing on the grounds of Kensington Palace. Following the second attempt, the suspect is still being held under police supervision.
It was stated that Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton were not at the palace during the period in question, as the couple was staying at Anmer Hall in Sandringham for the holiday. In other words, the royals were not at the palace during the repeated breaches.
The incident raised concerns regarding the protection of the royal family. Dai Davies, the former head of the Metropolitan Police's royal and specialist protection unit, made a statement regarding the events, drawing attention to the security vulnerability by saying, “The fact that he committed the same offense again after being released on bail is a serious cause for concern, given the nature of the crime.”
Derek Egan appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on December 30. The suspect was originally expected to be tried at Bromley Magistrates' Court on December 24, but the hearing could not be held because he refused to get off the prison transport vehicle. Egan is expected to present his formal defense at a hearing to be held in the coming days. The investigation into the suspect's unauthorized entry into the royal residence is ongoing.
Authorities stated that security protocols are being reviewed following the two consecutive breaches.
