Iran reacts to EU sanctions
Iran has reacted to the European Union's (EU) decision to impose sanctions on 6 Iranian officials and 3 organizations, following accusations that Iran sent unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to Russia, as well as missiles and UAVs to the Houthis in Yemen and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani, in a written statement, announced that he strongly condemns the new sanctions imposed by the EU on 6 officials, including Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, and 3 organizations.
Stating that the EU has once again targeted Iranian officials instead of focusing on the war crimes committed by Israel in Gaza, Kanaani said, "The European Union has once again resorted to the obsolete and ineffective tool of sanctions against Iran, and has prioritized the satisfaction of the Zionist regime and the US over the interests of the European Union and its nations."
Kanaani described the EU's claims as "absurd, baseless excuses and accusations," and announced that Tehran reserves the right to respond to the sanctions.
The EU had announced its decision to implement new sanctions on individuals and entities responsible for the transfer of UAVs from Iran to Russia and the provision of missiles or UAVs to armed groups in the Middle East and the Red Sea region.
In a statement from the EU Council, it was reported that Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani was among those sanctioned.
