Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi announced that his country has halted implementation of the memorandum of understanding with the United States. In a statement to state television, Gharibabadi said that the US has violated all of its obligations under the agreement.

Gharibabadi announced his country's decision by stating, “The US has violated all its commitments in the memorandum of understanding and suspended all its articles. We are likewise suspending our obligations under the memorandum of understanding and are not implementing them.”

The Deputy Minister also stated that Iran's priority in the current period is to focus on defense. Pointing out that the US has resumed its attacks during the negotiation process, Gharibabadi emphasized that “the US has once again understood that an aggressive stance will not yield results and has received the necessary response.”
