Iran rejects US proposal, calling it 'excessive'

Iran has rejected the US proposal aimed at ending attacks against Iran. Speaking to the Iranian press, a senior Iranian official stated that Iran would not allow US President Donald Trump to determine when the war ends, declaring, "Iran will decide for itself when to end the war, and this will only happen when its own conditions are met." The official stated that Iran would continue its defense until its demands are met and would "continue to deal heavy blows to the enemy."

"US proposals are excessive"

Noting that the US continues to seek negotiations through various diplomatic channels, the official said that the proposals presented by Washington are "excessive" and do not align with the realities on the ground. The official stated that previous negotiation processes held with the US in 2025 were "deceptive," noting that the US did not have a genuine intention for dialogue during those processes and subsequently carried out military attacks against Iran. Stating that the latest proposal, conveyed through a regional country, was also evaluated as an attempt to escalate tensions, the official noted that the proposal was rejected for this reason.

Iran's 5 conditions for ending the war

The official stated that Iran has put forward five conditions for agreeing to end the war, noting that these include the complete cessation of attacks and assassinations carried out by the enemy, the establishment of concrete mechanisms to prevent the war from being imposed on Iran again, the clear and guaranteed payment of war damages and reparations, the end of the war on all fronts in the region and for all resistance elements, and the international recognition and guarantee of Iran's sovereign rights over the Strait of Hormuz. The official also noted that these conditions were determined in addition to the demands voiced by Tehran during the second round of negotiations held in Geneva, Switzerland, shortly before the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran on February 28.

"No negotiations without acceptance of conditions"

Conveying that Iran has informed the mediating countries that a ceasefire is dependent solely on the acceptance of all these conditions, the official stated, "No negotiations will take place until these conditions are accepted. The end of this war will not be as Trump envisions, but as Iran decides."
