Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei responded to the statement made by the US regarding the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

In his statement following US Vice President-elect James David Vance's remarks that "the Iranians have agreed to invite International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors back into their country," Baghaei said, "Iran's relations with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will continue in accordance with existing procedures and in line with the laws passed by parliament and the decisions of the Supreme National Security Council."

In accordance with a law passed by the Iranian parliament last year, Iran's cooperation with the IAEA and inspections had been suspended.
