Iran responds to Trump's threats: 'We will be destructive and decisive'

Following US President Donald Trump’s launch of airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen, Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander Hossein Salami announced in a statement on Sunday that they would provide a “decisive and destructive” response to the US.

Iran, which has close ties to the Houthis, responded to the US attacks on Yemen. Evaluating Trump's threats against Iran, Salami announced that the Revolutionary Guard is ready against the US and Israel. Salami stated that Iran does not want war but will not leave threats against them unanswered.

Salami emphasized that they would not 'bow' to US pressure on Iran, stating the following:

'Iran will not start a war, but if threatened, it will respond appropriately and effectively.'

Following the US airstrike on Yemen, Trump issued a statement warning the Iranian government after the operations in Yemen, stating that support for Houthi groups must end immediately, and used the following expressions:

'Support for Houthi terrorists must be cut off. America will hold you fully accountable, and we will not be kind about it.'

US BOMBED CIVILIANS IN YEMEN

Social media accounts close to the Houthis reported that 31 people lost their lives and 13 were injured in the US airstrike on the city of Kahza in Yemen's Saada region. It was reported that 4 children and 1 woman were among the dead.

According to Yemen's official news agency SABA, it was announced that at least 23 people were injured in the attacks carried out by the US and the UK. It was stated that medical teams were dispatched due to the fire that broke out in the region.

Making a statement via the Truth Social platform, Trump emphasized that they would use 'overwhelming force' against Houthi groups in Yemen. While Trump did not share details regarding the scope and targets of the operations, he reiterated that Iran's activities in the region must end.

Calling on the Houthis to 'immediately' end their attacks in the Red Sea, Trump noted the following:

'I am speaking to the Houthi terrorists: Your time is up. Your attacks must stop as of today. Otherwise, you will face a hell you have never seen before.'

HOUTHI ATTACKS IN THE RED SEA

In a statement on March 7, the Houthis announced that they had given Israel a 4-day deadline to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza. Officials stated that if this period expires, they will resume maritime operations against Israel.

The Houthis' operations in the Red Sea have disrupted the trade of Israel and its allies, causing billions of dollars in losses in the region. The coalition formed by the US, UK, and Israel carried out air operations against Yemen following these attacks. With the ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and Hamas on January 19, attacks on Yemen were also temporarily halted.

Drawing attention to Iran's influence in the region, Trump emphasized that the Tehran administration's support for Houthi groups must end. The US President stated that the Houthis' activities in the Red Sea have negatively affected the trade network. Trump did not share details on how operations against Yemen would continue.
