Iran: Strait of Hormuz to be closed until blockade is lifted

The Navy of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a written statement regarding the current situation in the Strait of Hormuz. The statement recalled that Iran had previously allowed civilian vessels to pass through the "Lark Corridor," noting that some ships had transited the Strait of Hormuz under the coordination of the IRGC Navy within this framework.

"Strait of Hormuz to be closed until the blockade is lifted"

Addressing the blockade imposed by the U.S. in the Strait of Hormuz, the statement said, "Following the violation of commitments regarding ceasefire terms, the U.S. has not lifted the naval blockade on Iranian ships and ports. Therefore, as of this evening, the Strait of Hormuz will be closed until the blockade is lifted."

"Approaching vessels will be targeted"

The statement issued a warning to all vessels in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, stating, "No ship should move from its current anchorage; approaching the Strait of Hormuz will be considered cooperation with the enemy, and any vessel in violation will be targeted."

"The statements of the U.S.'s terrorist president have no validity"

The statement further called on ship owners and crews to follow only the official announcements of the IRGC Navy. Strongly criticizing U.S. President Donald Trump's remarks regarding maritime security and shipping in the region, the statement added, "The statements of the U.S.'s terrorist president regarding the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf have no validity."
