Iran to Israel: 'We reserve our right to respond'
Iran has announced that it 'reserves the right to respond at the appropriate time and place' to the killing of its soldiers in an Israeli attack on the Syrian capital, Damascus.

In a written statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani condemned the attack carried out by Israel on Damascus, the capital of Syria.
Kanaani stated that "Israel's repeated violations of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and its increasing aggressive and provocative attacks on various targets in Syria, demonstrate its own weakness and desperation."
Describing Tel Aviv's attack on Damascus as a "criminal and terrorist act," Kanaani noted that all countries, as well as regional and international organizations, including the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), should react to and condemn the attack in question.

Arguing that Iranian soldiers are present in Syria "as military advisors at the official invitation of the Syrian government," Kanaani stated, "They have played and continue to play an important role in establishing peace, stability, and security in this country (Syria)."
Kanaani stated that "Israel's killing of Iranian soldiers clearly shows Tel Aviv's deep relationship with certain terrorist organizations in the region and the DAESH terrorist organization."
Emphasizing that Tehran will pursue the political, legal, and international follow-up of this attack, Kanaani underscored that Iran "reserves the right to respond at the appropriate time and place."
The Syrian news agency SANA had announced that Israel targeted a civilian residential area in the Mezzeh district of Damascus.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, in a written statement, had announced that 4 of its members were killed in the attack carried out by Israel on the Syrian capital, Damascus.
