Iran unveils 2 new air defense systems

Iran has unveiled the Arman anti-ballistic missile system and the Azarakhsh low-altitude air defense system.

Iran, with the participation of Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, unveiled the Arman anti-ballistic missile system and the Azarakhsh low-altitude air defense system at a ceremony.

According to reports from Iranian state television, the Arman anti-ballistic missile system is capable of simultaneously engaging 12 targets at a distance of 120 to 180 kilometers and an altitude of 27 kilometers. Additionally, the Azarakhsh missile system can detect and destroy low-altitude targets at a range of up to 50 kilometers with 4 missiles ready to fire.

In his speech at the ceremony, Defense Minister Ashtiani stated that the Arman anti-ballistic missile system can be made operational in less than 3 minutes, providing reliable protection for the defense of the country's territory.

The Arman air defense system was first exhibited by Iran at the International Military-Technical Forum ARMY-2023 held in Russia in August 2023.
