Spokesperson for the Iranian General Staff, Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, made a statement regarding US threats against Kharg Island. In his statement, Shekarchi said, "Today, the world sees that with the power of the Iranian Armed Forces and the support of our dear nation, the attacks of the US and the Zionist regime have been responded to strongly, and heavy blows have been dealt to these enemies."

"We will turn the facilities of the country that is the source of the attack into ash"

Warning against US threats regarding Kharg Island, Shekarchi said, "Recently, US officials have frequently spoken about an attack on Kharg Island. I am warning them from here on behalf of all armed forces and the Iranian nation. If the US carries out any attack on Kharg Island, its oil facilities, or its oil terminal, we will decisively turn all oil and gas facilities of the country that is the source of the attack into ash."

"There are no red lines in defending Iran's interests"

Shekarchi emphasized that the Iranian Armed Forces always carry out their warnings, stating, "There are no red lines when it comes to defending the interests of the Iranian nation. If these threats are merely psychological operations, that is a different matter. However, if they turn into an actual attack, all oil and gas facilities of the country that is the source of the attack will be targeted by the Iranian Armed Forces and will be strongly attacked."

Kharg Island at the center of tension

Located in the Persian Gulf and serving as the site for the majority of Iran's oil exports, Kharg Island has become one of the focal points of tension between the US and Iran in recent days. US President Donald Trump had claimed that military targets on the island were "completely destroyed" and said they could "hit Kharg Island a few more times just for fun."

While these statements by Trump raised tensions in the region, Iranian officials stated that a potential attack would not go unanswered, noting that targeting Kharg Island would have serious consequences for global energy markets and would create a 'very heavy equation' in terms of oil prices and energy distribution.
