Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei made harsh statements regarding Ukraine during his weekly press conference in the capital, Tehran.
Baghaei was asked about allegations that Ukraine had targeted an Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea, resulting in the death of a sailor, as well as the upcoming meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump.
Stating that Iran will use the tools of defense when necessary and diplomacy when necessary, Baghaei noted that his country does not make its decisions based on external pressure. "We have never allowed and will never allow the US to determine our times of war and peace," Baghaei said.
Arguing that Ukraine is "trying to curry favor with those they see as their true masters" with this move, Baghaei used expressions targeting the US, Israel, and Ukraine.
''It is possible to describe this formation (US, Israel, Ukraine) as a triangle of evil. Such triangles have never contributed to international peace; on the contrary, they have destabilized it. Zelenskyy's elders must control him. Ukraine's dangerous adventure will not go unanswered.''
The statement from the Tehran administration indicates that tensions between Iran and Ukraine have risen following the alleged attack in the Caspian Sea.
