Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has thanked the government and people of Azerbaijan for their humanitarian aid. In a message shared on his social media account in Azerbaijani Turkish, Araghchi stated, "I thank the government and people of Azerbaijan for sending humanitarian aid and for the facilities they provided in delivering aid from other countries. This support shown during difficult days is based on the common culture that unites the peoples of Iran and Azerbaijan."

Humanitarian aid support from Azerbaijan to Iran

Azerbaijan carried out multiple shipments in March as part of its humanitarian aid activities for Iran. The first aid convoy, consisting of food and medical supplies, was sent to Iran on March 10.

Subsequently, following the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, the Baku administration carried out an additional shipment of approximately 82 tons of humanitarian aid between March 17 and 19.

Azerbaijan also provided transit facilities for aid sent to Iran from other countries; in this context, over 300 tons of medical aid sent by Russia were delivered to Iran via Azerbaijan, and approximately 13 tons of aid had previously been shipped via the same route.
