Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi: We are open to any solution
In a phone call with his French, German, and British counterparts and European Union (EU) High Representative Kaja Kallas, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the three European countries lack the legal and moral authority to invoke the "snapback" mechanism, which allows for the reinstatement of UN sanctions, while emphasizing that they remain open to diplomacy. The parties agreed to resume talks on nuclear and sanctions issues next week.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a joint phone call with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, and European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas.
The discussion addressed Iran's position regarding the "snapback" mechanism, which allows for the reinstatement of UN sanctions, and the responsibilities of European countries and the EU in this regard.
Araghchi stated that the countries in question lack the legal and moral authority to invoke the mechanism and warned European nations against the consequences of such an initiative. Emphasizing that Iran has never closed the door to diplomacy, Araghchi expressed that they are open to any solution that would secure the rights and interests of the people. Addressing the European parties' proposal to extend UN Security Council Resolution 2231 to allow more time for diplomacy, Araghchi noted that such a decision could only be made by the UN Security Council and that Iran is not a party to this process. Nevertheless, Araghchi noted that they would consult and exchange views with friendly countries on the Council regarding the consequences of such a step and the path to be followed.
IRAN-EUROPE TALKS TO CONTINUE NEXT WEEK
During the meeting, the European side reiterated their readiness for a diplomatic solution, and the parties decided that negotiations would continue next week on Tuesday at the level of deputy foreign ministers.
The UK, France, and Germany are known as the European signatories to the 2015 nuclear deal. These countries are threatening to initiate the "snapback" process, which allows for the reinstatement of previously lifted UN sanctions, on the grounds that Iran is not complying with its commitments under the 2015 nuclear agreement.
