Iranian President Pezeshkian: The US will not prevail, the world will pay a heavy price

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, who arrived in Tehran for official talks. The meeting addressed regional developments, the ceasefire process, and relations between the two countries. Touching upon Pakistan's role in achieving a ceasefire, Pezeshkian thanked Pakistan for its contributions to the mediation process, stating that Iran favors lasting peace, stability, and brotherly relations in the region, and that the rights of the Iranian people must be protected within the framework of international law.

Emphasis on regional peace and unity in the Islamic world

Drawing attention to the importance of unity in the Islamic world, Pezeshkian said, "Iran views all Islamic countries as brothers. At the root of the wars and instability in the region lie the attempts of the Zionist regime to create divisions among Islamic countries. For this reason, the Islamic Ummah must act in unity and cooperation and must not allow Muslim lands to be used against Muslims."

Pezeshkian stated that if unity is achieved among Islamic countries, the region will be prevented from being dragged into war, adding, "The unity of the Islamic Ummah will be decisive in resolving the crises in the region. In this context, Pakistan's responsible and determined efforts are gratifying. Other Islamic countries should also adopt a similar approach."

"Iran is not seeking instability"

Addressing the attacks by the US and Israel against Iran, Pezeshkian said, "On what grounds and by what law can the martyrdom of our supreme leader, the destruction of schools and hospitals, and the massacre of innocent children and our people as a result of these attacks be explained? From the very first day we took office, hostile and provocative steps have been taken by the US and the Zionist regime. Despite this, Iran is not seeking instability in the region and wants to develop brotherly relations with neighboring countries."

"Regional countries can ensure their own security together"

Emphasizing that Iran is committed to the framework of international law, Pezeshkian stated that after the war ends, regional countries should increase cooperation to establish lasting peace and security. Pezeshkian said, "Why shouldn't regional countries be able to ensure their own security independently? While Europe ensures its security through mechanisms like NATO, Islamic countries can also solve their problems through collective cooperation based on common values."

Touching upon the distrust toward the US, Pezeshkian said, "The Iranian people do not trust the US due to repeated violations of commitments, the launching of attacks while negotiations are ongoing, and the assassination of officials. However, despite this, Iran continues its contacts through friendly countries, especially Pakistan, and resolutely defends its national interests. This war will not benefit any party. The US will not prevail in this conflict; on the contrary, regional countries and the world will pay a heavy price. The only party trying to profit from this process is the Zionist regime."

"The region will not return to its former state"

Munir expressed his pleasure at meeting with Pezeshkian and thanked him for the hospitality of Iran and the Iranian people. Touching upon developments in the region during the meeting, Munir said, "Even though this war will end, the region will not return to its former state. Therefore, all countries must act together for the reconstruction, stability, and peace of the region." Pointing to the support given by China, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey to diplomatic initiatives during this crisis process, Munir said, "Maintaining these collaborations is of great importance. The importance of relations between countries becomes more evident in times of crisis and war compared to times of peace."

Furthermore, providing information on the course of the negotiations, Munir expressed his expectation that an agreement would be reached soon and the war would end, stating, "We believe that we can reach an agreement in a short time. This war will have no result other than destruction and loss."
