Iranian President Pezeshkian: We are not pursuing nuclear weapons

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian held a phone conversation with United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During the call, Pezeshkian stated that he hopes the ceasefire reached with Israel will be permanent and sustainable, adding, "One of the developments that saddened us the most during the Zionist regime's military attack on our country was that we were forced to respond to the US attack on the territory of our brotherly and neighboring country, Qatar."

Pezeshkian stated that one of the enemy's primary goals is to create hostility and division among Islamic countries, noting, "Iran deeply believes in brotherhood and friendship with regional countries and is determined to continue all efforts and cooperation for common development and progress."

"WAR IS NOT THE RIGHT WAY TO ACHIEVE GOALS"

Evaluating recent developments in the context of the process ranging from negotiations to armed conflict, the Iranian President said, "War is never the right way to achieve goals, and it has no winners. Iran entered into military conflict only to defend itself. I hope we never have to fight again. However, the Zionist regime and the US must know that they cannot impose their goals, which are contrary to international law, on Iran through pressure and bullying," he said.

"IRAN IS PURSUING ITS LEGITIMATE RIGHTS"

Emphasizing that Iran is ready to resolve issues within an international framework and at the negotiating table, Pezeshkian said, "Iran is not a country that cannot respond to the attacks of the Zionist regime, such as in Gaza and Lebanon. We expect you to convey this message to the US: Iran is only pursuing its legitimate rights and has no demands beyond that. Furthermore, we are not pursuing nuclear weapons, and we never have. Iran is only trying to build a better future for its people, the region, and the world by establishing constructive relations with its neighbors and other countries."

Al Nahyan, referring to Iran's response to the US participation in the Israeli attack, said, "Iran and other regional countries are always neighbors. We must think together on the path to building a better future for our peoples. We stand with Iran in these difficult days, and we will not hesitate to help our brothers as neighbors."
