Iranian source: Tehran will withdraw from ceasefire if attacks on Lebanon continue

Following Israel's attacks on Lebanon, a notable statement has come from Iran regarding the two-week ceasefire reached with the US.

A source speaking to the Iranian press reported that if Israel continues its attacks on Lebanon, Iran will withdraw from the ceasefire. Stating that the Tehran administration is seriously considering the possibility of withdrawing from the ceasefire, the source noted that the Iranian military is also continuing its target identification efforts to respond to the aforementioned attacks.

The source also used harsh language toward the US, saying, "Under the two-week ceasefire plan, the US agreed to a cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including those against the resistance in Lebanon, but the Zionist regime clearly violated the ceasefire this morning and carried out intense attacks on Lebanon. If the US cannot control its rabid dog in the region, Iran will help it in this regard, and by using force."

Israel's airstrike on Lebanon

The airstrike carried out by Israel today on various points in Lebanon is considered the most intense attack on Lebanon since the date the conflicts between the US-Israel and Iran began. According to reports by Israeli media citing military sources, 50 fighter jets dropped approximately 160 bombs on 100 targets within 10 minutes. Lebanese Minister of Health Rakan Nassereddine stated in his announcement that dozens of people had lost their lives and hundreds were injured in the airstrikes Israel conducted across Lebanon. Lebanese Red Cross Secretary-General Georges Kettaneh described the situation in the country as a "catastrophe," noting that many people were under the rubble and that buildings had completely collapsed in some areas.
