Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani made statements regarding the recent tension between Israel and Hezbollah. In his statement, Kanaani said, "The Zionist Israeli regime is trying to mislead and misdirect international public opinion with false scenarios following the months-long massacre and murders it has been committing against the Palestinian people in Gaza."
Noting that Israel has no right to speak or comment on the incident that took place in the Majdal Shams region of the occupied Golan Heights, Kanaani said, "This regime, which has lost its moral legitimacy, does not have the right to blame others for the incident in question."
Warning Israel against embarking on an adventure in Lebanon amid the tensions with Hezbollah, Kanaani stated, "Any ignorant action by Israel in Lebanon will lead to instability and tension in the region." Warning that an Israeli intervention in Lebanon could lead to war in the region, Kanaani said that Israel could face an unpredictable response.
Hezbollah denied the attack
12 Israelis lost their lives when a rocket hit a football field in an attack on Majdal Shams, located in the north of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. Making a statement after the attack, Hezbollah stated that they did not carry out a rocket attack on Majdal Shams and that they had no connection to the attack. In a previous statement, Hezbollah had announced that it had fired dozens of rockets at an Israeli base in the Golan Heights.
