The Iraqi government has announced that it has reached an agreement with the US to continue cash dollar shipments to the country. According to the statement, the new shipment is expected to take place in the coming days.
Iraqi Government Spokesperson Haider al-Abbudi stated in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency that an agreement was reached to continue the transfer of cash dollars during Prime Minister Ali al-Zaydi's visit to the US.
Al-Abbudi stated that the agreement was reached after Iraq strengthened its oversight mechanisms regarding dollar distribution and made progress in regulating the use of the dollar.
It is noted that the US has occasionally delayed dollar shipments to Iraq due to some of Iraq's stances regarding Iran. The continuation of the cash dollar flow is being closely monitored in terms of financial markets and foreign exchange transactions in Iraq.
