Iraq: We are ready to mediate between the US and Iran

Prime Minister-designate Ali Zeydi, tasked with forming the government in Iraq, held a phone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

In a statement released by the Iraqi Prime Minister's Press Office, it was reported that the conversation emphasized Iraq's support for diplomatic channels and dialogue in resolving crises.

The statement noted that Zeydi expressed during the call that Iraq has the capacity to mediate between Iran and the US, while Pezeshkian congratulated Zeydi on his official appointment to form the new government.

The conversation also covered cooperation between the two countries and ways to develop it, with an agreement reached to conduct mutual visits in the coming period.
