It has been alleged that Israel targeted one of Hezbollah's top figures in an airstrike on the capital, Beirut, from southern Lebanon.

Reports in the Lebanese press claim that the Israeli military targeted Ali Karaki, the commander of Hezbollah's southern front, in the airstrike.

An unnamed Lebanese security source stated that Karaki's fate remains uncertain.

In the attacks carried out by Israel on Lebanon since the morning hours, 274 people have lost their lives and 1,024 people have been injured.
