Israel announces Larijani has been killed! First statement from Iran

Israeli officials claimed that Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, who holds a critical position in the Iranian administration, was targeted in the airstrikes carried out during the night. Sources speaking to the Israeli media stated that Larijani was among the figures targeted during the attack.

Officials stated that there is no clear information yet on whether Larijani, who is considered one of the most influential figures in the Iranian administration, has lost his life or been injured.

OTHER TARGETS WERE ALSO HIT THE SAME NIGHT

In reports in the Israeli press based on defense sources, it was stated that in another attack against Iran, Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader Akram al-Ajouri and some high-level members of the organization were also targeted.

Israeli Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir touched upon the operations in his assessment in the morning hours without naming names. Zamir said, "Significant successes were achieved throughout the night."

Pointing to names linked to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad in his statement, Zamir said, "This was done in addition to the elimination operations carried out in recent days in Iran against external elements also linked to Palestine. High-level figures involved in terrorist activities in Gaza and the West Bank were hiding in a safe house in Tehran when they were attacked."

The message shared from Larijani's social media accounts was conveyed with the note, "Ali Larijani's handwriting written on the eve of the funeral ceremony for the soldiers of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy."

The message included the following statements:

The martyrs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy in Dena are part of the sacrifices of a brave nation that has emerged in this era of struggle against international oppressors. Their memory will always live in the hearts of the Iranian nation, and these martyrdoms will form the foundation of the armed forces structure of the Islamic Republic of Iran for many years to come. I pray to Almighty Allah to grant these precious martyrs the highest ranks."
