The Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced that it has launched an operation against Israel named "Al-Aqsa Flood." The Israeli military declared a "state of war alert" and launched attacks on the Gaza Strip.
It was reported that at least 40 Israelis lost their lives in the operations. Following the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation, the Israeli military announced that it had also launched attacks on the Gaza Strip with dozens of fighter jets.
"SPREADING FAKE NEWS IS UNACCEPTABLE"
The Embassy of Israel in Turkey made statements regarding the matter. The statement included the following:
"While Israelis are losing their lives and being subjected to torture as a result of treacherous attacks, it is unacceptable for some media outlets and politicians in Turkey to spread fake news.
To be more explicit; what is happening today are terrorist attacks planned in advance by Hamas, which have no relation to any action by Israel and do not constitute a response."
REQUEST FOR SUPPORT
In its social media post, the Embassy also stated that "Turkey must stand shoulder to shoulder against acts of terror," and the statement continued as follows:
"As two countries that have fought against terrorism for a very long time, Israel and Turkey must stand shoulder to shoulder against these acts of terror, and terror must not be supported under any circumstances."
