According to the Israeli press, thousands of reservists have received draft notices in preparation for the expansion of the occupation of Gaza and the intensification of attacks, but it has been announced that many of these reservists will not comply with these orders due to 'fatigue'.
In a report by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, citing unnamed sources within the military, it was stated that reservists would replace regular troops currently stationed on Israel's northern border and in the West Bank to allow for the expansion of attacks in Gaza.
The report stated, "The vast majority of reservists will serve on the northern border and in the West Bank to replace regular troops who will be redeployed to intensify operations in the Gaza Strip," noting that many commanders and soldiers had declared before receiving their notices that they did not intend to participate in the next battle due to 'fatigue'.
It had previously been noted that the Israeli army was preparing to call up reservists as part of its plans to expand the attacks on Gaza, which it resumed on March 18 by breaking the ceasefire.
On May 2, the Israeli army presented plans to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the expansion of the occupation and the intensification of attacks in Gaza. Following the ceasefire that went into effect on January 19, the Israeli army resumed violent attacks on the morning of March 18.
With Israel's resumption of attacks, 2,436 Palestinians, mostly elderly, women, and children, have lost their lives, and 6,450 people have been injured.
