For nearly two weeks, Israel has been expecting an attack from Iran in response to the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
In a report citing a source familiar with the matter, the WSJ stated that Israel has moved to a high alert level for the first time in August following observations of counter-attack preparations by Iran and Hezbollah.
Israeli state television KAN had reported that Israel was preparing for a larger-scale attack from Iran than the one it carried out in April.
