The Israeli military claimed that it killed a Hezbollah commander responsible for medium-range rocket systems in an airstrike on southern Lebanon last night.

In a statement from the Israeli military spokesperson's office, it was alleged that Hezbollah commander Ali Tawfiq Douek was killed in an airstrike on a village in the city of Nabatieh in southern Lebanon.

According to the statement, it was asserted that Douek had replaced the Hezbollah commander who was killed in an Israeli military strike on Beirut in September.

The Israeli military carried out an airstrike on the village of Kfar Joz in the city of Nabatieh last night.

HEZBOLLAH HAS NOT ISSUED A STATEMENT

Hezbollah has not yet issued a statement regarding Israel's claims.

The Israeli military, which has been engaged in controlled clashes with Hezbollah since October 8, 2023, launched hundreds of airstrikes on September 23 against southern Lebanese cities as well as the Bekaa and Baalbek regions.

Hezbollah is responding to Israel with rockets and missiles. No major damage has been reported in these attacks on the Israeli side, which have mostly targeted military bases.
