A high-ranking Hezbollah commander was reported killed in a drone strike carried out by the Israeli military in southern Lebanon.
HEZBOLLAH COMMANDER KILLED
The name of the person killed has not yet been officially announced. However, three security sources speaking to the Reuters news agency stated that the individual was Wissam al-Tawil, a high-ranking commander in Hezbollah's Radwan Force. One of the security sources speaking to Reuters said, "Things will flare up even more now." According to AFP, the attack was carried out against the vehicle the Hezbollah commander was in.
The news of the Hezbollah commander's death came following strikes by Israeli warplanes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.
SALEH AL-AROURI ASSASSINATION
Israel began these strikes after an anti-tank missile was fired from Lebanon at the city of Kiryat Shmona in northern Israel. Since the war between Hamas and Israel began in October, the cross-border clashes that have occurred almost daily between Israel and Lebanon have intensified in recent times.
Last week, Saleh al-Arouri, one of the most senior figures in Hamas's political wing, was killed in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.
