Israel prepares for ground operation

In a report by Israel's state television channel KAN, it was claimed that the Israeli government is seriously considering conducting a limited ground operation in Lebanon, but that the US is exerting unprecedented pressure on Israel to prevent this from happening.

The report stated that the government has not yet made a final decision on the matter, and noted that the US believes it is necessary to reach an agreement between Israel and Hezbollah to avoid being dragged into a wider military conflict.

According to the Israeli press, the goal of a potential ground operation is to establish a buffer zone in southern Lebanon.
