Israel strengthens its air fleet: Purchased from the US

Israel is implementing a comprehensive modernization project with the United States to strengthen its air defense capacity against increasing threats in the region. The Israeli Ministry of Defense announced that the procurement of two new fighter jet squadrons will begin under a new joint defense agreement with a budget of approximately 119 billion dollars.

Within the framework of the announced procurement plan, F-35 "Adir" stealth aircraft, which stand out for their radar-evading capabilities, and F-15IA attack aircraft with high ammunition-carrying capacity will be added to the Israeli Air Force fleet. The newly acquired jets are expected to increase Israel's operational capability and effectiveness in the airspace.

With this development, Israel will add approximately 50 new fighter jets to its inventory. Thus, the number of military jets, which is currently over 300, will approach 400. Israel, which has been experiencing shortages in ammunition stocks especially after the tensions with Iran, aims to both strengthen its defense and increase its long-range operational capability in the Middle East with this move.

The F-35s that will be included in the new fleet draw attention with their advanced stealth technologies. These aircraft stand out with their capacity to penetrate deep targets by bypassing enemy air defense systems. On the other hand, F-15IA type jets will constitute a strategic strike force with their ability to carry large amounts of weapons.

This agreement between Israel and the US has once again revealed the depth of military cooperation between the two countries. The modernization in question concerns not only Israel but also the security balances in the region. The delivery and operational process of the new fighter jets is expected to be completed gradually in the coming years.
