At least 14 people were killed and at least 43 others were injured in airstrikes carried out by Israel in central Syria on Sunday evening.

According to reports from Syria's official news agency SANA, numerous explosions and 'air defense engagements' occurred in the central part of Syria, including in the Tartus and Hama provinces. It reported that many civilians lost their lives as a result of the attacks.

According to reports in the foreign press, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) did not respond to questions from international media organizations.

Dr. Faisal Haydar, Director of Masyaf National Hospital, told SANA that the death toll from the attack near the city of Masyaf in Hama province had risen to 14, and that at least 43 people were injured, 6 of whom are in critical condition.

Citing a military source, SANA wrote, 'The Israeli enemy launched an air attack shortly before 20:30 local time on Sunday from the direction of northwestern Lebanon, targeting a number of military sites in the central region.'
