Israeli army attacks 'Hezbollah stronghold'

The Israeli army carried out an airstrike on targets it identified in the Dahiyeh district, described as a "Hezbollah stronghold" in the south of Lebanon’s capital, Beirut.

Israeli Army Spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced in a post on the social media platform X that two buildings in the Dahiyeh district in southern Beirut would be targeted, after which powerful explosions occurred in the area.

According to Anadolu Agency, shortly after the warning from Israeli army spokesperson Adraee on social media, explosions took place in the Dahiyeh district, and smoke was seen rising from the area following the airstrikes.

Adraee later stated in a second announcement that another building in Dahiyeh had also been targeted.

COUNTERATTACK FROM HEZBOLLAH

Following the Israeli attacks, Hezbollah had previously announced that it would intensify its strategy of retaliation.

Since the morning hours, Hezbollah has continued to increase its attacks on northern regions of Israel. A statement from the Israeli Army Spokesperson's Office indicated that approximately 180 rockets were fired toward Haifa and the surrounding Galilee region. It was reported that one person lost their life in the city of Acre due to the rocket attacks, while at least 10 people were injured in different areas and material damage occurred.

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) launched from Lebanon struck an area in the northern Israeli city of Caesarea, where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residence is located. The Israeli Prime Minister's Office confirmed in a statement that there was a drone attack on Prime Minister Netanyahu's home in Caesarea. The statement noted that neither Netanyahu nor his wife were at home during the incident and that there were no injuries.
