Israeli media claim: US to present new proposal

Israeli media have claimed that while the US is not optimistic about reaching a prisoner exchange deal between Israel and Palestinian groups, it will present a new proposal on the matter.

In a report by Israeli state television KAN, citing Israeli and US officials, it was alleged that the Washington administration is working on a new proposal to present to Tel Aviv and the mediators, despite not being optimistic about a prisoner exchange.

It was stated that the new proposal, which the US administration describes as a "final opportunity proposal," will be presented to the parties today or in the coming days.

It was noted that the new US proposal includes all issues of disagreement between Israel and Hamas, primarily the Philadelphi Corridor.

Negotiations have been ongoing for a long time between the parties to halt Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip, which have been continuing since October 7.

It is emphasized that the clauses added by Israel to the draft agreement, and particularly its insistence on maintaining control over the Egypt-Gaza border line, the Philadelphi Corridor, are complicating the negotiations.
