According to a report in the Yediot Aharonot newspaper, David Barnea, Director of the Israeli foreign intelligence agency Mossad, presented a proposal for an agreement to the parties in Doha, the capital of Qatar, where he had traveled to restart negotiations for a hostage exchange and a ceasefire in Gaza.
Barnea's proposal includes the release of 11 to 14 Israeli hostages by Hamas in exchange for a 1-month temporary ceasefire in Gaza.
It also proposes the release of some Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.
There has been no statement yet from Israeli authorities regarding whether the details of Barnea's proposal reported in the media are accurate.
Hamas had previously stated that it conditions any hostage exchange on a permanent ceasefire and the withdrawal of the Israeli army from the areas it occupies in Gaza.
The Mossad Director had participated in meetings held in Doha on October 27-28 to resume hostage exchange negotiations.
It is stated that there are 101 Israeli hostages held by Hamas.
