According to Israel's state broadcaster KAN, Hamas has submitted a new proposal to Israel regarding a prisoner exchange.
It was noted that the proposal includes a new 4-stage prisoner exchange that would begin with the release of elderly hostages in Gaza, followed by men, then female soldiers, and finally ending with the release of male soldiers in exchange for an extension of the "humanitarian pause."
NO STATEMENT FROM MEDIATORS
It was stated that the proposal also demands the release of Palestinian prisoners "convicted of killing Israelis" in exchange for the release of hostages in Gaza.
According to the same source, an unnamed Israeli political official stated that Tel Aviv responded by saying, "Before discussing a new deal, Hamas must release the 21 women and 4 children it holds."
No statement has been made by Hamas, Israel, or the mediators Qatar, Egypt, and the US regarding the report by the Israeli state broadcaster.
An agreement was reached between Israel and Hamas for a 4-day "humanitarian pause" in the fighting in Gaza on November 24 as part of a prisoner exchange. The agreement in question was later extended by 2 days.
