Israeli military: Approximately 500 targets hit in attack on Iran with 200 aircraft

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that the largest air operation in the history of the Israeli Air Force was carried out as part of the attacks on Iran.

It was stated that approximately 500 targets in the western and central parts of Iran were hit by approximately 200 fighter jets as part of the attacks. The Israeli military announced that the comprehensive attack on Iran targeted Iran's ballistic missile launchers and air defense systems.

In the statement, which noted that hundreds of munitions were dropped on the targets, it was said, "This was the largest sortie in the history of the Israeli Air Force and was executed by simultaneously synchronizing hundreds of aircraft following close planning supported by high-quality intelligence."

In the statement shared on the official IDF website, it was claimed that the attacks on Iran's air defense systems enabled the improvement of airspace superiority and dealt a heavy blow to launch sites in western Iran and the country's offensive capabilities. The Israeli military argued that one of the points hit in the Tabriz region belonged to Iran's ballistic missile unit and that dozens of missiles were planned to be launched from there at Israel. The statement included the phrase, "The Israeli Air Force continues its operations in Iran." Media reports stated that F-35 and F-15 type fighter jets were used in the attacks.
