Israeli Parliament passes resolution rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian State
The resolution rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian State, which was voted on today in the Israeli Parliament (Knesset), was passed with 68 votes in favor and 9 against.

While Israel continues to slaughter civilians in the Gaza Strip, it has also demonstrated its opposition to the establishment of an independent Palestinian State with its capital in East Jerusalem based on 1967 borders.
The resolution rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian State, which was voted on today in the Israeli Parliament (Knesset), has been passed.
The resolution, which was passed in the Knesset with 68 votes in favor and 9 against, stated that a Palestinian State would “pose an existential threat to the State of Israel and its citizens, perpetuate the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and destabilize the region.”
While the coalition formed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with far-right parties supported the motion, the center-left party of opposition leader Yair Lapid, who had previously stated he was in favor of a two-state solution, left the session before the vote.
“THE WAR CONDUCTED IN GAZA IS TERRORISM”
In a statement made after the resolution was passed, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh said that there would be no peace or security for anyone without the establishment of a Palestinian State with its capital in East Jerusalem, and emphasized that many countries that are members of the United Nations (UN) also recognize the State of Palestine.
Stating that the Israeli government is dragging the entire region into an abyss with the support of the US, Rudeineh characterized the war Israel is conducting in Gaza as “terrorism” due to the civilian deaths.
Hussein Al-Sheikh, Secretary-General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), stated in a post on his social media account that the Knesset’s decision confirms “Israel’s racism, its disregard for international law, and its policy of perpetuating the occupation forever.”
Al-Sheikh called on countries that hesitate to recognize the State of Palestine to “immediately” reverse their decisions to protect the two-state solution, while also asking Arab states to “respond appropriately” to the resolution passed in the Knesset.
