Very harsh response from Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu: 'We will change the Middle East'

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously stated regarding the clashes in the Gaza Strip, "We are now at war." Meeting with the mayors of the regions, Netanyahu said that Israel's response to Hamas would be very harsh.

Netanyahu stated the following:

"What Hamas will experience will be difficult and terrible; we have entered the operation and we are just beginning. I want you to be resolute because we will change the Middle East."

CLAIMS OF A SECOND FRONT

While tensions continue at the Gaza border, the Israeli army announced that armed groups attempting to enter the country from the northern Lebanese border had been neutralized. It is noted that if armed groups on the Lebanese border join Hamas's attacks, a second front could be opened in the war.

Meanwhile, it was stated that Egyptian intelligence had repeatedly warned Israel that Hamas was planning "something very big," but that their counterparts did not pay heed to these warnings.

According to the US-based news agency Associated Press (AP), an Egyptian intelligence official who requested anonymity said that they had warned Israel in advance about the attack launched by Palestinian groups from the blockaded Gaza Strip into Israel. Stating that they had warned their counterparts in Tel Aviv about the situation in Gaza during the ongoing prisoner exchange negotiations before the conflict between Hamas and Israel, the Egyptian official said, "We warned the Israelis repeatedly that the situation was reaching a breaking point and that it would be very big. But they underestimated these warnings."
