Italy: Erdogan's statements on Hamas are nauseating
Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini said, "Erdogan's statements about Hamas are nauseating."
Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini spoke regarding the 'Hamas' remarks made by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Salvini stated, "Erdogan's statements about Hamas are nauseating. I will ask Foreign Minister Tajani to summon the ambassador," he said.
WHAT DID ERDOGAN SAY?
President Erdogan, who made statements at his party's group meeting, said the following:
"They are carrying out one of the most brutal attacks in history against the oppressed in Gaza. In their latest meeting, the entire West came together and views Hamas as a terrorist organization. Israel, you might be an organization because the West owes you a lot, but Turkey does not owe you anything. Hamas is not a terrorist organization; it is a liberation and mujahideen group struggling to protect its land. We have no problem with the State of Israel. But we do not approve of the atrocities committed by Israel and its way of acting like an organization rather than a state."
