As Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip continue, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has announced her opposition to the military operation Israel plans to launch in the city of Rafah, where more than 1 million displaced Palestinians have taken refuge.
In her speech at the Senate, Meloni stated, "We will reiterate our opposition to Israel's military operation in Rafah, as this operation could have even more catastrophic consequences for the civilians living in the region."
Meloni also emphasized the importance of opening new land routes and a maritime corridor from the Republic of Cyprus to ensure the safe delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
