The Israeli army continues its attacks, which have been ongoing for 4 days, on the city of Jenin and the Jenin Refugee Camp located in the northern part of the occupied West Bank. It is alleged that 'ethnic cleansing' is being carried out in the blockaded region. Palestinian journalists and Jewish human rights activists reporting on the events in the region have documented that Israel is 'destroying' residential areas.

According to information received from eyewitnesses, the Israeli army has sent reinforcements to the Jenin Refugee Camp, where it has intensified its attacks. Sounds of explosions and clashes have been heard in the region from time to time.

It was also stated that the Israeli army has caused interruptions by damaging water, electricity, and communication infrastructure in Jenin and has demolished houses in the area.

According to local sources, Israeli army bulldozers have also been destroying infrastructure and shops in the camp for four days.

Following the entry into force of the ceasefire reached in Gaza on Sunday, January 19, the Israeli army launched an attack it dubbed 'Iron Wall' on the city of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank on Tuesday, January 21.

In the attacks carried out by the Israeli army on the city of Jenin and the refugee camp, 12 Palestinians have lost their lives, and approximately 50 people have been injured.

'Clashes' are taking place between the Israeli army, which continues its attacks in Jenin, and Palestinians. In Jenin, where there is no armed resistance group, Palestinians are trying to respond by throwing stones at the soldiers attacking residential areas.

ALLEGATIONS OF ETHNIC CLEANSING IN JENIN

Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative Mustafa Barghouti stated that Israel is carrying out 'ethnic cleansing' in the Jenin Refugee Camp in the northern occupied West Bank.

Barghouti made a statement regarding the attacks that Israel has been carrying out for 4 days in the city of Jenin and the Jenin Refugee Camp.

The Palestinian official said, 'The occupiers are conducting a dangerous ethnic cleansing operation in Jenin, forcing civilians and families to leave their homes on foot by subjecting them to pressure and humiliating inspections.'

Emphasizing the 'importance of Palestinian national unity in the face of ethnic cleansing and Israeli genocide,' Barghouti noted the following:

'What is happening confirms the statements of the Chief of General Staff (Herzi Halevi) of the occupation army that the targets and oppressive practices in Gaza and the West Bank are the same. Both regions are being subjected to collective punishment that includes checkpoints, detentions, and torture.'

Some of the Israeli army forces were deployed to the West Bank region with the start of the ceasefire in Gaza.

IS THE GENOCIDE IN GAZA CONTINUING IN JENIN?

Deputy Governor of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, Mansour al-Saadi, had warned that Israel could implement a major attack plan on the Jenin Refugee Camp and that a repeat of the genocide in northern Gaza could occur.

Roland Friedrich, the director responsible for the occupied West Bank at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), noted in a statement published on his X account that 2,000 families have migrated from the Jenin Refugee Camp since December 2024.
