Joint call from Egypt to Israel and Hamas: Implement the agreement unconditionally
Egypt has called on Israel and Hamas to take serious steps toward finalizing the 3-phase agreement announced by US President Joe Biden, which envisions an immediate ceasefire in Gaza in its first phase, and to begin implementing the terms of the agreement without delay and unconditionally.

In a written statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated that Egypt welcomes the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution regarding a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, a full withdrawal, a prisoner exchange, the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, and the return of displaced persons to their homes.
The statement reiterated the call for Israel to "comply with its obligations under the provisions of international law and to stop the war it is waging against the Gaza Strip."
The statement further called on Israel and Hamas to take serious steps toward finalizing the proposal announced by Biden and approved by the UNSC, and to begin implementing its provisions without delay and unconditionally.
The draft resolution, which requested support for the 3-phase proposal announced by US President Joe Biden that envisions an immediate ceasefire in Gaza in its first phase, was adopted by the UNSC.
In the vote where Russia abstained, the draft resolution submitted by the US received 14 affirmative votes in the 15-member UNSC.
The resolution, which states that Israel has accepted Biden's proposal, also called on Hamas to accept and implement the proposal.
The resolution noted that in accordance with the 3-phase proposal; the first phase would ensure an immediate ceasefire, the release of women, elderly, and wounded hostages, the exchange of Palestinian prisoners, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from populated areas in Gaza, an increase in humanitarian aid, the reconstruction of essential services, the return of Palestinian civilians to their homes throughout the entire strip including northern Gaza, and the provision of necessary housing contributions by the international community.
