Junta government in Myanmar bombs civilians: 27 people lost their lives

A spokesperson for the rebel group Mandalay People's Defense Force (PDF), Osmond (code name), claimed that the military targeted the village's market area. Osmond stated that 27 people, including 6 children, lost their lives in the attack, and 30 others were injured. It was reported that approximately 10 houses near the market were destroyed by the bombs.
International media outlets stated that the attack has been confirmed and that the death toll could rise. The junta government in Myanmar has not made an official statement regarding the incident.

It was reported that these groups continue their resistance against the military administration.
United Nations (UN) Human Rights Office spokesperson Liz Throssell announced in a statement on September 17, 2024, that at least 5 thousand 350 civilians have been killed and more than 3.3 million people have been displaced since 2021.
