The 61-year-old Baath regime in Syria has collapsed under the leadership of the jihadist HTS. Following the overthrow of Assad, eyes have turned to the reshaping of Syria and the actors in the region.
Making assessments on the subject, Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) General Secretary Kemal Okuyan emphasized that the balance of power in the region is largely shaped under the influence of the US and Israel.
Making statements via his X account, Okuyan used the following expressions:
"All actors who are influential or trying to be influential in Syria are in some way linked to the US and Israel. No matter how the dynamics of conflict and cooperation between ISIS, the FSA, HTS, the PYD, and the KNC develop, the US will not come out of this as a loser. Undoubtedly, new actors will emerge. But this is the current picture."
