On October 26, Israel launched an attack on Iran's military targets. Following the attack, all eyes were on Iran. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei spoke on the matter for the first time.
Khamenei spoke about Israel's attack on Iran at his residence in the capital, Tehran, as follows:
“They made a mistake two nights ago; of course, they are exaggerating. It is wrong to blow it out of proportion, but it is also wrong to downplay it.
The Zionist regime has a miscalculation regarding Iran. This must be corrected. They still have not fully understood Iran's power, capability, and will. We must demonstrate this to them.”
On the other hand, unlike in previous Israeli attacks, Khamenei did not call for direct retaliation this time.
Pointing to the efforts of President Masoud Pezeshkian's government to lift some of the internet restrictions, Khamenei said, “Those who make decisions regarding the cyber sphere must also pay attention to the issue of the society's psychological security. The country's officials must ensure the psychological security of the public.”
ISRAEL'S ATTACK ON IRAN
Israel had announced that it carried out an attack on military targets in Iran on October 26 as a 'retaliation' for Iran's missile attacks on October 1.
Iran announced that some military points in Tehran and the western provinces of Khuzestan and Ilam were targeted, and that air defense systems had 'successfully' countered the attacks, though 'limited damage' occurred in some locations.
Israel had announced that the attack was 'successfully' completed. The Iranian military, however, reported that four soldiers were killed in the attacks.
