According to the statement, King Charles will continue to carry out official state business during his treatment but will not attend public-facing events.
As reported by the BBC, King Charles's spokesperson did not disclose the type of cancer but confirmed that it is not prostate cancer.
It was also announced that the King's cancer diagnosis was made while he was in the hospital for a prostate procedure.
HAD UNDERGONE SURGERY
The 75-year-old King underwent surgery at a hospital last week for a benign prostate enlargement.
It was also noted that Charles chose to announce his diagnosis "to prevent speculation."
King Charles was proclaimed king following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, and his coronation ceremony was held at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6.
