King Charles III makes first statement following cancer diagnosis
In his first statement since being diagnosed with cancer, King Charles III addressed the messages of support he received, stating, "As all those who have been affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement."

King Charles, whose treatment is continuing at Sandringham House in Norfolk, expressed his gratitude for the messages of support in a written statement.
King Charles noted the following in his statement:
"As all those who have been affected by cancer will know, such kind thoughts are the greatest comfort and encouragement. It is equally heartening to hear how sharing my own diagnosis has helped promote public understanding and shine a light on the work of all those organizations which support cancer patients and their families across the United Kingdom and wider world.
My lifelong admiration for their tireless care and dedication is all the greater as a result of my own personal experience."
Cancer diagnosis during treatment for enlarged prostate
King Charles, who was announced to be hospitalized for treatment of an enlarged prostate, was discharged on January 29 after being admitted on January 26. Buckingham Palace announced that another concerning condition was discovered during the check-ups and that the King had been diagnosed with cancer.
While it was announced that King Charles does not have prostate cancer, no statement was made regarding the type or stage of the cancer, though Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated that the cancer was caught in an early stage.
