In a statement to the Rossiya state television channel, Ushakov shared his assessments regarding relations between Russia and the US.
Stating that the issue of a potential meeting between Russian leader Putin and US President Trump is on everyone's lips, Ushakov said, "I can say that no specific dates have been agreed upon yet. Not even a venue has been agreed upon. However, many people, especially our American colleagues, are mentioning Riyadh."
Ushakov also noted that efforts are ongoing regarding a potential phone call between Putin and Trump, but that no agreement has been reached yet.
Reporting that the meeting Putin previously held in St. Petersburg with US President Trump's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff went well, Ushakov conveyed that the Ukraine issue was discussed the most, alongside political and economic topics.
Noting that the "necessary signals" were conveyed from Moscow through Witkoff, Ushakov said, "I think these signals were discussed in Washington."
