A new statement has come from Moscow regarding the future of the S-400 air defense systems that Turkey purchased from Russia. Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the possibility of transferring the systems to a country considered friendly to Russia is on the agenda.

In his assessment of the matter, Peskov said, "The possibility of transferring the S-400 systems in Turkey to a country friendly to Russia is on our agenda. Relevant work is being carried out in this direction, and appropriate contacts are being maintained."

When asked about the relocation of the S-400s and whether a request had been received from the Turkish side, the Kremlin spokesperson replied, "Such a topic is on the agenda. Relevant work is being carried out, and the necessary contacts are being made."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had also previously stated that it was possible for the S-400 systems in Turkey to be transferred to a third country friendly to Russia, but that they had not received a request to that effect.

Pointing to the legal framework of arms trade between the two countries, Lavrov had remarked, "Turkey cannot transfer this missile system to a third country without Russia's permission."
