Kuwait's new prime minister has been announced
Emir of Kuwait Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has appointed Ahmad Abdullah Al-Sabah as prime minister.

According to a report by Kuwait's official news agency KUNA, Ahmad Abdullah Al-Sabah has been appointed as the new prime minister in accordance with a decree issued by the Emir.
Emir of Kuwait Al-Sabah had accepted the resignation of the government led by Prime Minister Mohammad Al-Salem Al-Sabah on April 7, following the parliamentary elections held on April 4.
Participation in the country's general elections was recorded at 62 percent, and one woman was elected to the 50-seat parliament.
