Largest solar flare in the last 7 years has occurred
The Space Weather Prediction Center, affiliated with the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), reported that the largest solar flare of the last 7 years occurred yesterday.

In a post on the X account of the Space Weather Prediction Center, affiliated with the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, it was noted that the largest flare of the current solar cycle occurred yesterday.
The statement, which included information that this flare is the 17th largest solar flare ever recorded, indicated that some radio transmitters and similar technical equipment could be affected due to the powerful flare, which is classified as an X-class event.
DID NOT SIGNIFICANTLY AFFECT EARTH
In related reports reflected in the American media, it was stated that the flare occurred around 1:00 PM local time in the U.S. and did not significantly affect Earth.
The reports highlighted that the flare, which was stated to be at the X8.7 level, is one of the most intense in this class, and underscored that it is the largest flare detected since 2017.
Solar flares are classified from class A to class X, and each class is scaled from 1 to 9 within itself.
